BALENCIAGA FALL 2020

The Balenciaga Fall 2020 Fashion Show was one of the first performances that incorporated technology into the production. People were blown away to see technology imitating life, which imitates art. All of these aspects were in unison which created a very satisfying feel.

In the first picture, you can see that the ceiling was a screen that showed an image based on the fashion pieces shown. This allowed room for the audience to be amused by the visions, but not too amused that they neglect the actual fashion in the show. The screen altered every time models with a new color or collection walked into the room. You had to be paying attention if you were there. It was almost like a museum x runway x play.

In the bottom picture, we see that the screen turned black in order to draw all and any attention to the red sock heels. Balenciaga incorporated water into this scene to show the waterproof aspect, but more importantly, to reflect the shoes.
